Brothers Before Others is a not for profit 501(c)(3) charity of Active and Retired Law Enforcement committed to the sisterhood and brotherhood of our profession. Our organization was first formed in a closed group on Facebook, giving others the ability to share experiences they may not be comfortable sharing with others in the “real world” while generously donating funds that would touch others in heartfelt ways.
Brothers Before Others was created in September 2014, to secure that any line of duty death does not go unnoticed. BBO created a flower fund to send flowers to every line of duty death and remind the family that they are never alone. Since it’s creation, BBO has also sent flowers or gifts to members who suffered a injury, are celebrating an addition to the family and reminding children of lost members that they will always have an extended family. During Christmas, 2015, BBO visited several hospitals to provide children gifts to raise their spirits.
In January 2016, BBO assisted in creating the Hartnett Hero Fund, to support Philadelphia Police Officer and former US Coast Guard, PO Jesse Hartnett during his recovery after being ambushed. The fund was established, along with a website/store, to assist in raising funds to meet his financial needs.
All of our work is accomplished through generous donations from our members and sales of our products. We will continue to support those in our profession. Your purchase of our products or donations to our cause will undoubtedly help us continue our mission.
