“Blue” Magazine features Brothers Before Others

“Blue” Magazine, which has lived up to it’s mission of serving as the “unfiltered and independent voice of all law enforcement officers”, recently visited the Brothers Before Others office in order to cover the group and founder, Michael Burke. The interview covers a range of topics, from BBO’s founding through Michael’s most proud moments. It affords the reader the opportunity of seeing BBO through Michael’s eyes.

There are a lot of parallels between the way Passaic County Sheriff’s Officer Daniel DelValle runs “Blue” and the way Michael Burke runs BBO, so it’s no coincidence the two see eye to eye. Both men pride themselves in offering benevolence and perspective, free of politics and patronage.

As stated on their home page:

The Blue Magazine is not affiliated with any agency or union and does not censor the work submitted for publication. We are not “scared off” by controversial or unpopular issues because we understand that often times you have to wade through the controversy to get to the truth of a matter.

In each issue, Daniel also highlights the work done by BBO member/partner and Philadelphia Forensic Sketch Artist, Jonny Castro, in a feature called “Remembrance”.

Since 2016 and the one year anniversary of the death of Philadelphia Police Officer Robert Wilson III, Jonny has embarked on the selfless mission of creating portraits of national heroes, both sworn and civilian.

To date, Jonny has completed hundreds of these portraits, which he does at his on expense and on his own time. Brothers Before Others has been honored to have, on several occasions, hand delivered these portraits to families of the fallen.

In this latest issue of “Blue”, Daniel chose to highlight the portrait of Lesandro “Junior” Guzman-Feliz, the 15 year old Bronx teen and NYPD Explorer, who was senselessly murdered a short time ago.

If you are looking for a reliable and consistent source of information and resources as they pertain to law enforcement, you can do no better than “Blue” Magazine.

We invite you to grab the latest issue and learn all you needed to know about BBO. While you’re there, you can also read up on the Proud Pig’s Softball team rise to power in New Hampshire!!
