Brothers Before Others is first, and foremost, a charity, dedicated to our Blue Family. With that, we engage many people in our communities in an attempt to influence someone’s life in a positive manner.
Amongst our contributions are our children donations. We provide children in hospitals with a Christmas in July and in December, fully funded by donations from supporters and BBO members. Additionally, members volunteer their time to go into these selected hospitals to distribute teddy bears and other items purchased. We aren’t looking to get on the news or a pat on the back, we just do what is right.
Our Flower Fund provides floral arrangements to LODD’s (line of duty deaths) to officers nationwide. To date, we have supplied over 227 arrangements since 2014.
Recently, BBO commissioned a local artist to create a blue line flag mural on the Bogota Police Department HQ. You can read about the re-dedication ceremony here: http://www.bogotablognj.com/2016/06/headquarters-dedication.html
Whenever there is a need, BBO tries to help. Whether it’s simply a road trip to an agency who recently lost an officer to lend support, bring water for comfort, creating a clothing line to start a fund raiser, or supporting our LEO kids during a game, we are there.
